Weymouth boss Martyn Rogers backs chairman George Rolls
Rogers was appointed as Terras boss by Rolls in January 2010
Weymouth manager Martyn Rogers has backed chairman George Rolls to remain at the club for the long-term future.
Rolls is holding a general meeting at the Bob Lucas Stadium on Saturday 24 February to let Terras' fans decide whether he should stay at the club.
"George brought me here and I hope to be working with him for the foreseeable future," Rogers told BBC Radio Solent.
"When I first got here I said we all need to pull in the same direction. It's the only way we can push forward."
The meeting will take place after Weymouth's match against Didcot Town and supporters, many of whom have been dissatisfied with Rolls' tenure at the club, will be given a ticket before kick-off allowing them to vote on the chairman's future.
Rolls took over at Weymouth in November 2009 and rescued the then Blue Square Bet South club from administration, but debts continued to grow and at the start of this season the Terras were deducted 10 points having gone into administration.
However Rogers, who became Terras boss after former manager Ian Hutchinson was sacked by Rolls in January, insists the situation will not distract his side from their league clash against Salisbury on Saturday.
"It won't be a problem for the players," the ex-Tiverton Town boss said.
"It's important we come out of the blocks on Saturday in the right frame of mind and we're going to have to be at our very best to get something out of the game."
Weymouth are currently second from bottom in the Zamaretto Premier Division, having lost 13 of their 26 league games.
