Ebbsfleet United are still fourth in Blue Square Bet South after a 2-2 draw with Eastleigh.
After going a goal behind they were 2-1 up at half-time thanks to goals from Calum Willock and an Ashley Carew penalty but conceded after the break.
Manager Liam Daish said: "We haven't lost, it's against a side that's around us, they haven't gained on us."
Elsewhere Dartford beat Weston Super Mare and Dover lost, but Welling's game against Bromley was abandoned.
Welling were leading 2-1 through Luis Cumbers and Jack Parkinson when the floodlights failed with three minutes to go. The fire brigade were then called out after smoke appeared from one of the pylons.
Welling, who are under a transfer embargo, could only name one substitute on their team-sheet, and that was player-manager Jamie Day, who was not at the game because he was attending the birth of his child.
Dartford's win over Weston Super Mare was the club's fourth league victory in a row and came just two days after the club returned from a 550 mile round trip to Gateshead in the FA Trophy.
Charlie Sheringham got the only goal on 73 minutes which leaves Dartford 15th, seven points above the relegation zone.
Dover Athletic suffered their fifth home defeat with a 2-1 to Blue Square Bet South leaders Braintree Town.
Adam Birchall's 34th goal of the season made no difference to the result and leaves Dover lie four points off the play-offs in eighth place.
Manager Martin Hayes said: "We didn't do it right tonight and we are paying the price for it. At the other end they have a mass of bodies defending, making it hard for us.
"We've been dishing out presents the last few games and that is why we haven't got any points."
With 16 points now separating Dover from Braintree, Hayes accepts that his side will now probably be required to gain promotion through the play-offs.
"I would have thought so, we had to beat them, they have to throw it away now," he said.
"I don't know if they'll win the league. I am sure Ebbsfleet and Chelmsford have ambitions to catch them and they've all got to play them."
Tonbridge Angels have moved up to second place in the Ryman Premier Division with their eighth win in nine games. They beat Concord Rangers 3-2 with goals from Ben Judge, Ade Olurunda and Lee Browning.
The Angels now trail leaders Sutton United by eight points with two games in hand and Sutton due at Longmead in ten days time.
In Ryman South, Sittingbourne had to wait until long after 10pm to secure their second win in 11 games, with a 1-0 victory over Corinthian Casuals. A floodlight problem had delayed kick off by 35 minutes.
