AFC Telford United moved up to fourth in the Blue Square Bet North after a gritty 1-0 win at Workington.
Sean Newton fired in a free-kick on 20 minutes, but Workington could have levelled when Phil McLuckie crashed a long-range shot against the bar.
In a game of few chances, Telford's Jon Adams fired wide in the second half.
"We were rock solid defensively - Ryan Young didn't have a save to make," Bucks boss Andy Sinton told BBC Radio Shropshire. "It was a great win."
