Sinton's side are fifth in the league

AFC Telford United manager Andy Sinton is running the rule over a winger, but he will not name him because he does not want to alert other clubs.

"He started at West Ham as a youngster, but then drifted out of the game a bit," Sinton told BBC Radio Shropshire.

"He played in their reserves, he'll train with us for a couple of weeks, but there's no promises."

The mystery player has been a transfer target for a Blue Square Bet South side, but they are unable to sign him.

The Bucks boss is also keeping tabs on Derby's Greg Mills, who has become a target for Kidderminster Harriers.

Mills recently turned down an extension to his loan with Telford, but did not rule out a move back to Shropshire.

Meanwhile, League One club Colchester United have ruled out any move for Telford defender Shane Killock.

Telford take on Hyde in the Blue Square Bet North on Saturday with defender Sam Stockley hoping to be selected in the squad after returning from the United States, where he has been offered a deal with a club in the summer.
