Craig Dootson made right move - Harrogate boss Weaver
Harrogate boss Simon Weaver believes goalkeeper Craig Dootson was right to leave for Altrincham this month.
The 31-year-old went to Fleetwood on loan in September and has not had a chance to reclaim a place in the side since returning in January.
Town manager Simon Weaver told BBC Radio York: "We want happy players here like every club does and he's had that interest and it's closer to home.
"It's a club a league higher and they've given him a chance there."
Weaver added: "I happen to think that I've got a very good keeper in Mark Cook and I think out of the two I'd probably continue to play Cooky. Then you'd have a very frustrated experienced player on the sidelines.
I rang him up after he agreed the deal there and left a message saying all the best for the future and I hope you help keep them up

"When that opportunity arose both parties thought it was best to move on really.
"We agreed on something and he agreed wages there and he'll go with our best wishes.
"I rang him up after he agreed the deal there and left a message saying all the best for the future and I hope you help keep them up. I genuinely mean that.
"Let bygones be bygones and all's well that ends well as far as I'm concerned."
