Stafford Rangers have appointed former Oxford, Leicester and Scotland defender Matt Elliott as their new manager.
The 42-year-old replaces Tim Flowers, who resigned as boss of the Blue Square Bet North strugglers on Tuesday.
"At a board meeting it was agreed to offer the vacant manager's position to Matt Elliott," read a statement on the club's official website.
"Matt has readily accepted the offer and is looking forward to the challenge of keeping the club in the division."
Elliott had previously been assistant manager at Hednesford Town and Oadby Town before joining Flowers at Marston Road in October.
However, Flowers left his position after just three months in charge and without a league win to his name, saying he was not enjoying the job.
Rangers are only being kept off the bottom of the table on goal difference by Redditch United and are currently six points from safety.
Elliott took caretaker charge of Saturday's 2-0 defeat by Telford and first game as permanent boss is at home to Vauxhall Motors on Saturday.
