Confusion at Weymouth over Rob Wolleaston contract
Wolleaston joined Weymouth from Farnborough Town in September
Weymouth manager Ian Hutchinson has admitted he is confused by the contractual dilemma involving midfielder Rob Wolleaston.
The Football Association said on Thursday that it has no record of the contract Wolleaston signed for Weymouth in September.
"Rob and I are certainly confused by it all," Hutchinson told BBC Radio Solent.
"He's a great player and a great lad so we hope to get to the bottom of it by the end of the weekend."
Wolleaston, who is the top earner at Weymouth, joined the club from Farnborough Town and penned a deal to keep him at Bob Lucas Stadium until May 2012.
The FA have told the Dorset Echo that Wolleaston has been asked to confirm that he did sign the contract.
His future with the Terras was thrown into further doubt this week when the club announced they would be reducing their playing budget and therefore could not afford the ex-Chelsea man.
Hutchinson admits he has been left disappointed by the recent developments surrounding the club but is determined to return the Terras to former glory.
"It's very sad to see the club at such a low point because it's a great club with a great history.
"We want to build the club back up and we'll keep our integrity and dignity along the way and get this club back to way it should be."
Weymouth play Cambridge City on Saturday, having lost their last two games, and sit bottom of the Zamaretto League Premier Division.
