Two goals from Ryan Kendall helped Gainsborough Trinity to a 3-1 win at Lincolnshire rivals Boston United in Blue Square Bet North.
After Kendall struck a post, Sam Aiston turned home a Paul Mayo cross to put Gainsborough ahead after 20 minutes.
The Pilgrims levelled on the stroke of half-time through Spencer Weir-Daley's close-range effort.
Kendall restored Trinity's lead on the hour with a solo run and shot before adding the third 12 minutes later.
Gainsborough manager Brian Little told BBC Lincolnshire: "Boston are a good side but I felt we matched them in the first half and looked dangerous on the counter-attack.
I'm sure they'll feel they deserved it but I think we gifted them the victory
Boston joint-manager Paul Hurst
"It's a fantastic result, the goals we scored were good goals and I think we deserved it."
The defeat was only Boston's third of the season.
Joint-manager Paul Hurst said: "We're not used to losing and we lost the game through our inability to defend.
"We pulled level and deservedly so, and felt that in the second half we would be the stronger team but they got the goal and that made a big difference.
"I'm sure they'll feel they deserved it but I think we gifted them the victory."
