A great goal by Gareth Evans proved to be the worthy winner as Bradford downed lowly Lincoln.
The Imps, who have not played a game in five weeks, were behind after just two minutes when a dreadful mix-up at the back allowed James Hanson to poke home.
Evans was then deemed to have handled inside the area, and Ashley Grimes drew the home side level.
But Evans was not to be the villain, as he held off two defenders and lashed the ball into the top corner.
Lincoln City manager Steve Tilson told BBC Lincolnshire: "We can't keep conceding goals and giving teams a head start and then trying to get back into the game.
"In the last 20 minutes we had four or five decent chances but we shouldn't be in a position where we're trying to catch up and we should have at least got a point.
"We probably need to get two or three older heads in but it's not easy to get those players. Going forward we're not too bad but I can't believe how many free headers they had in our 18-yard box, it's not good enough."
Bradford City manager Peter Taylor told BBC Radio Leeds: "Victorious sounds nice, it feels better and there were some good things but some hairy things at the end.
"We cause ourselves problems, it's a little bit of a confidence thing.
"I think if we were to be on a good run and the players would be in good form then I think we would have kept the ball a bit more but when your in the situation that we've been in sometimes the boys haven't got enough confidence."
