Ebbsfleet players miss out on training during cold snap

Ebbsfleet United manager Liam Daish says the winter weather has meant he has hardly seen his players since their last match a fortnight ago.

The 2008 FA Trophy winners face Hayes & Yeading in the FA Trophy on Saturday - their first game since they beat Bromley on 23 November.

"The severity of the weather meant there were safety issues getting the lads here," Daish told BBC Radio Kent.

"It was a nightmare and they've had to look after themselves last week."

He continued: "We've been in touch with them all the time and have given them programmes but we just weren't able to see them.

"But we have been able to get a couple of sessions in this week and we're just hoping we can get back to business as usual on Saturday.

"We're just looking forward to playing a game.

"We don't need any more matches being called off because we've got games to fit in and it's going to be harder with the squad that we've got.

"But we always look forward to the FA Trophy and Saturday will be no different."
