Ebbsfleet United boss Daish hoping to use Cup momentum

Ebbsfleet manager Liam Daish is hoping the momentum of his side's FA Cup run can propel them to promotion from the Blue Square Bet South.

From entering the competition in the second qualifying round, Fleet eventually lost 3-2 to AFC Wimbledon in a first round proper replay.

"Hopefully we can get out of this league," Daish told BBC Radio Kent.

"This will pull us even closer together and we can really enjoy this season by getting promoted."

Fleet looked to be on the verge of shocking their opponents from the Blue Square Bet Premier when two goals from Ashley Carew gave them a 2-1 lead.

But Sammy Moore netted an equaliser for the visitors deep into stoppage time and then scored a similarly late winner in the closing stages of extra time.

Daish added: "The players should use this because they took them to two ties and really gave a great account of themselves and arguably deserved to have gone through."
