Nicky Law not fazed by Alfreton Town fixture pile-up

We have to be as physically prepared as we can for when we start again. We have trained hard so hopefully they will be as topped up as they can be

Alfreton Town boss Nicky Law is certain his Blue Square Bet North table-toppers will cope with the fixture backlog caused by their recent enforced break.

The Reds have had their last three games postponed because of the weather.

And their FA Cup exit and the demise of Ilkeston Town have forced them to miss another two Saturday matches.

But Law said: "It doesn't faze me one bit that we may have to play Saturday and midweek for the next three months or so. The boys are just raring to go."

He added: "We have got a very good crop of fit, enthusiastic lads who just want to play football.

"It is all about how you prepare for coming out of the break. We have done all we can to provide the players with the facilities to do just that.

"We have found venues to train at and, to their credit, the players have all got to wherever we are training. That shows their desire and commitment and tells us a lot about the people they are.

"We have to be as physically prepared as we can be for when we start again. We have trained hard so hopefully they will be as topped up as they can be."
