Braintree Town boss Rod Stringer plays down success
Braintree manager Rod Stringer says he will not be putting any extra pressure on his side despite their ascent to the top of the Blue Square Bet South.
Saturday's 1-0 win over Thurrock in the Essex derby was enough to take Braintree a point clear of second-placed Chelmsford City.
Stringer told BBC Essex: "I don't want to put pressure on myself or the boys."
"We look at every game and go and try to win it. All I want to do now is focus on Dorchester away."
He added: "When we need to look at where we are, around Christmas time, it will give us an indication of what we've got to do to try and achieve what we want."
The Iron have taken 26 points from their first 11 league matches, and have conceded just four goals in the process.
Braintree can move four points clear at the top with a win at Dorchester on Saturday as nearest rivals Bromley and Chelmsford are not in league action.
