Ex-Wolves striker Adam Proudlock made his first league start for Telford
AFC Telford United bounced back from their midweek FA Cup exit to maintain this season's unbeaten league record with a goalless draw at Alfreton.
Liam Murray was closest to breaking the deadlock when the officials ruled that his header had not crossed the line.
Stefan Bailey went close, while Ryan Young saved from Alfreton's Tom Naylor.
The home side were reduced to ten men in injury time when striker Paul Clayton was handed a straight red for a two-footed lunge on Shane Killock.
Telford, knocked out of the Cup in a penalty shootout on Tuesday night by Alfreton's Derbyshire rivals Buxton, stay fourth in the Blue Square Bet North table, while Alfreton slip to second.
After being held to a draw in their last three league games, Telford, who are now without a win in four matches in all competitions, are still within six points of new leaders Boston with a game in hand.
Telford manager Andy Sinton told BBC Radio Shropshire: "To the eye it wasn't a great spectacle.
"We cancelled each other out which sometimes is the name of the game."
