Baker laments Woking goal drought

Woking manager Graham Baker admits goal-scoring is becoming a problem after their third successive league defeat without finding the net.

Their 1-0 defeat at Staines to an 88th minute Andre Scarlett strike followed reverses at both Welling and Braintree.

Baker told BBC Surrey: "Stats don't lie. We've only scored seven goals this season. Everyone needs to chip in, not just the strikers".

"Games are won and lost in both boxes. At the moment we can't kill teams off."

Baker was impressed once again with winger Moses Ademola:

"In the last couple of games we've given him a bit of a free role. We've taken the shackles off him in terms of his defensive work and said to him 'Just float out there and see what problems you can create' and to be fair to him, he's had his best two games.

"But aswell as assisting and putting the supply in, which he does, he needs to chip in and contribute in on the goal front, too."

Baker concedes the lack of goals is affecting the whole team:

"To be fair to the defence, it's putting them under pressure. They can't concede one, because at the moment we only look like a 1-0 team. A team scores against us we have to get two. At the moment, that's proving very hard to do".
