Woking manager Graham Baker laments "mistakes"

Baker is looking to bounce back in the Cup next week at Bishop's Cleeve

Woking manager Graham Baker admitted that his team were the architects of their own downfall in a 2-0 Blue Square Bet South defeat at Welling United.

Woking were undone by two second half goals from Andy Pugh and Loick Pires, ending their two-game winning streak.

Cards boss Graham Baker told BBC Surrey: "We had great chances early on, and sometimes it comes back to haunt you. The game's about scoring goals".

"We were victims of our own mistakes and our own wasteful chances".

Despite Craig Faulconbridge scoring twice from the bench last week, Baker chose not to start him.

"It was a tough call all week," said Baker. "Probably he deserved his starting place, but I gave the same XI who'd won three games one more run-out.

"And Craig can come off the bench to win us the game, but they didn't give themselves a chance.

"We've got a break from a league next week and a very-very difficult FA Cup tie down at Bishop's Cleeve.

"If we miss chances like that next week we'll be going out of the cup straight away as well".
