Crawley Town 2-1 Gateshead

Crawley Town moved to the top of the Blue Square Bet Premier thanks to a double from top scorer Matt Tubbs.

The home side took the lead from the penalty spot, Tubbs converting after being fouled by Carl Jones.

Gateshead then rallied, equalising immediately when Jon Shaw headed in Martin Brittain's corner.

But Tubbs grabbed his sixth goal of the season to hand Crawley a last ditch winner, nodding Kyle McFadzean's perfect cross past Tim Deasy.

This victory extends Crawley's undefeated run to eight games and sees them leapfrog AFC Wimbledon at the top of the league.

Gateshead's loss, after two successive wins, leaves them looking nervously over their shoulders again as they are only four points above the relegation zone.
