Paul Hurst hails 'ugly' Boston United win over Eastwood
Paul Hurst has seen the Pilgrims win five of their opening six fixtures
Joint Boston United manager Paul Hurst has praised the Pilgrims' battling qualities after a 1-0 home Blue Square Bet North win over Eastwood Town.
Boston have chalked up a 9-0 win over Redditch and a 6-3 victory at Harrogate this season, but Hurst said Monday's success was just as satisfying.
"It proved we can win games ugly and that's a good sign," Hurst told BBC Lincolnshire.
Shaun Pearson's 28th-minute header settled the match.
Hurst added: "One to 11 no-one was probably at their best, but what we did was tightened things up and through a lot of hard work we limited them to very little."
Boston were promoted from the then UniBond Premier last season and have won five of their opening six matches to sit fourth in the table.
"Taking 15 points out of 18 - I think we would have snatched someone's hands off if that was offered to us. What we have shown in the first six games is that we can compete at this level," said Hurst.
