Lincoln City midfielder Albert Jarrett has been called up by Sierra Leone for their match against Egypt in Cairo.
Jarrett's involvement in the game next Sunday against the Africa Cup of Nations champions means he will miss the next two Imps' matches.
The 25-year-old told BBC Lincolnshire: "I have thought about it long and hard but it is the big stage.
"If it had been a friendly I may not have gone but it is an African Cup of Nations qualifying game."
The summer signing, who was born in Freetown, has played five times so far for his country.
