Woking started the season with a 1-0 home defeat against Dover in Blue Square Bet South.
Goalkeeper Lenny Pidgeley kept out a first half penalty and made two other fine saves, but his 55th minute error let in Elliott Charles to score.
Woking assistant manager Jimmy Dack told BBC Surrey:"Its individual errors. We went a bit too long. It was just a comedy of errors really.
"The boys that were here last year should be pushing the others along."
Woking gave starting league debuts to defender Alan Inns, midfielder Francis Quarm, striker Dave Gilroy and midfielder Sam Hurrell.
New signing Adam Doyle was prevented from playing after Farnborough confirmed they have lodged an objection to his transfer last week. That objection will be heard in the next seven days.
Woking's best chance of the game was a 30-yard effort from Alan Inns which produced a great save by Ross Flitney. But Dack refused to blame the pressure of expectation on the side: "Pressure is when you're one of them soldiers out in Afghanistan. I just think that teams come here and like the set-up.
"Its a proper football environment and they come here and really fancy it. But that no excuse, we should fancy it more than them".
