Ex-Shrewsbury keeper Glyn Garner interested in Telford
Garner made 45 league appearances for Shrewsbury
Former Shrewsbury Town goalkeeper Glyn Garner says he will not rule out a move to AFC Telford United.
The 33-year-old is currently looking for a new club and told BBC Radio Shropshire that he would consider the Bucks because they are near his home.
"It would be of interest, it's just around the corner for me," he said.
"They're an up-and-coming club, they've got a nice ground. If they gave me a ring then you would discuss what possibilities could happen."
Telford have been looking at a number of goalkeepers on trial to provide competition for current number one Ryan Young.
With Football League experience at Bury, Leyton Orient and the Shrews, Garner, who made 49 appearances for Shrewsbury after being signed by Gary Peters in 2007 before joining Grays Athletic on a free transfer in February, would certainly provide that.
And although Garner is keen to stay in the Football League, he is equally determined that his next club will be closer to home.
"I'm married and have a child, I don't want to be too far away from home," he said.
"I've had a bit of interest, but everything's been a bit too far away from home. The plan's to stay in the Football League, if not I'll look at other options."
