Gary Peters is determined to stick with Glyn Garner

"He's a leader in the dressing room," said Peters, "He's enthusiastic, works incredible hours and is a super goalkeeper."

Garner, 21, is aware the spotlight falls on keepers during a poor run, but insisted he is happy with his game.

He told BBC Radio Shropshire: "I analyse every game and you have to be self-critical to improve."

He added: "As a team we're not that bad. We perhaps need a little more of a cutting edge. We went 1-0 up against Hereford and had them in the palm of our hands but we didn't finish them off and ended up losing.

"We're trying to find our way a little, with new people coming in, but we will turn it round."

Garner is enjoying working with Shrewsbury's new goalkeeping coach Andy Mulliner, and with recent signing Scott Bevan, who Peters feels is a big goalkeeper of the future in more ways than one.
