Blyth Spartans have completed the signing of Gateshead defender Chris Swailes and have appointed him the club's assistant manager.
The 39-year-old centre-back's arrival at Croft Park follows the departures of defenders Richard Pell, John Brackstone and Steve Foster.
Swailes has previously played for a number of League clubs, and had a spell in the Premier League with Ipswich.
His role at Blyth Spartans will be his first management position.
