Welling United sign former Gillingham strikers

Blue Square South side Welling United have signed former Gillingham strikers Andy Pugh and Luis Cumbers.

The pair were released from Priestfield following the Gills' relegation to League Two in May.

Pugh, 21, was on loan at Park View Road last season where he scored eight goals in 15 games to help take the Wings to the brink of the play-offs.

Cumbers, 21, has also had successful non-league loan spells at Ebbsfleet United, Grays, and AFC Wimbledon.

Manager Jamie Day has openly expressed his wish to make Pugh's move permanent, while he was also unsuccessful in his bid to bring Cumbers to Park View Road earlier this year.

In other transfer news, winger Sam Hurrell has moved to fellow Blue Square South side Woking.
