Ashley Wooliscroft played 48 games for the old Telford United

AFC Telford have signed right back Ashley Wooliscroft to fill the gap left by Lee Vaughan's move to Kidderminster.

The 30-year-old, who began his career at Stoke and later played with the old Telford United, was at Fleetwood and then Stafford last season.

"He's got a lot of experience, and comes to us highly rated," new boss Andy Sinton told BBC Radio Shropshire.

Two more signings could be imminent with Sinton talking to another defender and a midfielder about joining Telford.

"Ideally I want three or four new players to add to what we've already got," Sinton added.

Jon Adams, Ryan Young and Andy Brown have agreed to new deals, and Carl Rodgers has verbally agreed to stay - while Sinton has reported "positive talks" with Phil Trainer and Kevin O'Connor.
