Graham Baker and Jimmy Dack agree new Woking contracts

Woking

Manager Graham Baker and his assistant Jimmy Dack have signed two-year contracts to remain at Woking.

Baker had been seeking clarification over the size of the playing budget, and he and Dack will stay at Kingfield until the end of the 2011/12 season.

Baker told BBC Surrey: "I'm committed now along with Jimmy. We're going to continue to do our best for the club.

"I'm quite happy going forward. I want to make us competitive and hopefully go one step further than last season."

He added: "It's important if you're talking to new players that you're going to be on board.

"It was good to get it out the way and sorted so we can concentrate on getting the squad together for next season."

Baker has also released eight players from the Blue Square South side, who were beaten in this season's play-off final by Bath.

Jon Boardman, Jamie Hand, Billy Hussey, Charlie Moone, Delano Sam-Yorke, Jamie Slabber, Sam Sloma and Matt Wright have all been given free transfers.

"There's a new challenge ahead with a fresh season and we start with a blank piece of paper," Baker said.
