Boston United joint-manager Rob Scott says the Pilgrims must get over missing out on the Unibond Premier Division title and focus on the play-offs.
A 0-0 draw at Marine on Saturday meant Boston finished third and now face North Ferriby United in a play-off semi-final at York Street on Tuesday.
Scott told BBC Lincolnshire: "It's not often in life you get a second chance.
"It's up to the players to rise to it and every time the club's had a disappointment, we've bounced back."
Scott and his managerial partner Paul Hurst are in familiar territory, having led Ilkeston Town to promotion via the play-offs last season.
But Scott was disappointed his side failed to earn promotion as champions following the stalemate at the Arriva Stadium.
"In all honesty we weren't good enough," he said.

"I don't know if the occasion got to us, but all the decisions across the whole team were wrong.
"For some reason we decided we were going to boot everything and smash it forward and that's just not us."
Guiseley won the title ahead of Bradford Park Avenue who finished second, with North Ferriby and Kendal Town rounding off the top five.
A win on Tuesday for Boston will put them in to Saturday's play-off final away at Bradford Park Avenue who beat Kendal 2-1 on Monday evening.
