AFC Telford United boss Rob Smith keen to stay in role
Telford have won just one of their last 10 league games
AFC Telford United boss Rob Smith has said he wants to stay on as manager of the Shropshire club, despite missing out on the Blue Square North play-offs.
Smith's contract is up for renewal in the summer and he admitted the Bucks had not achieved their targets.
"I'd love to have another go," he told BBC Radio Shropshire.
"We've worked as hard as any other year and had a very average season. If that is not acceptable, then that's the club's decision," he added.
"As far as I'm concerned, we've had three and a half years of unbelievable success. But it's the chairman's decision, and I'll respect that."
Telford's 2-1 defeat at Workington at the weekend means it is mathematically impossible for them to make the play-offs. In their previous two seasons, they reached the semi-finals and the final, where they lost out to Gateshead.
The Bucks have won only one of their last 10 league games.
