Nuneaton Town manager Wilkin refuses to concede title
Wilkin's Boro are chasing a second successive promotion
Nuneaton Town manager Kevin Wilkin has refused to concede the Southern League Premier Division title to Farnborough.
Kyle Storer grabbed an equaliser for 'Boro' in Saturday's 1-1 draw between the two teams at Liberty Way to maintain the six-point gap.
Wilkin told BBC Coventry & Warwickshire: "Both sides have got six games left to play in the last couple of weeks of the season.
"It's not over yet. We'll see if we can push them all the way."
With seven games to play over the next fortnight, Nuneaton face a draining schedule, starting with Tuesday's Birmingham Senior Cup semi-final at Stourbridge.
Nuneaton Town fixtures
Tuesday 13 Stourbridge (A)
Thursday 15 Leamington (H)
Saturday 17 Clevedon (A)
Sunday 18 Chippenham (H)
Tuesday 20 Didcot (H)
After playing Leamington on Thursday, Nuneaton will then face two games in less than 24 hours with a noon kick-off against Chippenham Town on Sunday coming after Saturday's trip to Clevedon Town.
Despite failing to win either of their last two matches, Wilkin is proud his players are still in with a shot of the title. He said: "They shouldn't be disappointed.
"It's been a tough period for us, probably as tough for us as anybody. The ball is in Farnborough's court now, but you never know what will happen. We'll try and finish the season strongly and see where we end up.
"We've been hit hardest by all the cancellations and for the lads to keep responding and doing what they do and showing that fighting spirit, they're a great bunch of lads and good to work with."
