Nuneaton Town beat Leamington 2-0 to close the gap on Southern League Premier Division leaders Farnborough to just four points.
Boro overcame their local rivals at the New Windmill thanks to goals from striker Chris Dillon and a penalty save by goalkeeper Darren Acton.
Manager Kevin Wilkin told BBC Coventry & Warwickshire: "We scored the goals at the right time.
"It was a solid performance and I thought we were value for the win."
Nuneaton took the lead against Brakes courtesy of Dillon's initial strike deep into first-half stoppage time.
