Boston boss Paul Hurst defends dropping Marc Newsham
Newsham came on as substitute during Boston's game at North Ferriby
Joint Boston United boss Paul Hurst has warned his players that no-one is guaranteed a place in the team.
Hurst and fellow boss Rob Scott dropped top scorer Marc Newsham for the Pilgrims' 0-0 draw in the UniBond Premier at North Ferriby on Saturday.
"Marc has been outstanding for us, but I just feel he's taken a little bit of a dip in form and so that's why he was out," Hurst told BBC Lincolnshire.
Newsham has scored 23 goals in all competitions this season.
We've got more numbers in the squad and we've got a lot of quality

"You can't rest on your laurels and I'm not saying for one minute Marc has. But someone who was flying in August or September might be terrible now. I don't think any of our players are that, but that's just an indication of what can happen," Hurst added.
"We've got more numbers in the squad and we've got a lot of quality. I think a lot of the lads that are on our bench would definitely play in other teams," Hurst explained.
Boston currently lie third in the Unibond Premier, three points behind table-topping Bradford Park Avenue who have two games in hand.
