Rob Scott hails 'outstanding' Boston United victory
Joint-manager Rob Scott praised Boston United's spirit following a 2-1 win at fellow Unibond Premier Division promotion-chasers Retford United.
Danny Sleath put Boston ahead, only for Retford to level just before half-time through Chris Bettney's free-kick.
Shaun Pearson netted the winner with a powerful header after 52 minutes.
Scott told BBC Lincolnshire: "We knew it would be physical and if we could stand up to it we would have a chance and we were outstanding."
Scott also played down a fracas at the end of the match as Boston celebrated the victory which consolidated their second place in the table and avenged a 1-0 defeat by the Badgers at York Street earlier in the season.
"It was a top of the table clash and it meant a lot to both sides," he said.
"I would imagine that some of their players and staff took exception to our celebrations.
"The same thing happened at our ground earlier in the season. That's football, what goes around comes around."
