Weymouth have been forced to release five key players because of financial difficulties at the club.
Top-scorer Jake Reid, captain Scott Brice, Martin Slocombe, Matthew Groves and Josh Llewellyn were offered reduced terms to stay but all declined.
Chairman George Rolls wants to enter the club into a Company Voluntary Arrangement to avoid liquidation.
"There's no point in spending money on players when we can be saving for the future," he told BBC Radio Solent.
