Danny Carey-Bertram celebrates after scoring against Vauxhall
Danny Carey-Bertram hit four goals as AFC Telford thrashed Vauxhall 5-1 to halt a run of three successive losses.
Carey-Bertram, who had failed to score a league goal this season, put the Bucks 2-1 at half-time, with Vauxhall's Josh Wilson levelling in between.
The striker scored two more in the second period, sandwiching a goal from Telford's top scorer Andy Brown.
"It's great for Danny, but it also gets confidence up for all the lads," coach Steve Wynn told BBC Radio Shropshire.
He added: "It's been a difficult time for everybody, and this is just one result. We're not getting carried away, but it's a platform to build on.
"It was a good result. It was a difficult night - they came and they put bodies behind the ball. I think the third goal was crucial - that was the turning point."
The win lifted Telford to within five points of the Blue Square North play-off places.
Carey-Bertram was delighted to get back on the scoresheet in emphatic fashion.
"I've always had faith in myself and so have the management," he said. "I knew the goals would come - I just didn't know when.
"I was a bit in shock when I got a standing ovation, and I'm delighted."
The striker finished as the Bucks' top scorer with 21 goals in the 2008/09 season but has only found the net once this season, in an FA Cup tie against Pegasus Juniors.
He was sent on loan to Worcester City in December to try and regain his impressive form of last season.
"That was not to get me out of the club, it was to get games, get confidence and get sharpness. Hopefully it did and I can kick on now," Carey-Bertram added.
"The first goal of the four was best - although probably the worst to look at because it came with a deflection, but it was a big relief to get that one.
"For the team, we couldn't ask for a better result than winning 5-1 to take into the next game [at Droylsden on Saturday], and I think we can move on and get promotion."
