Telford chairman Carter apologises for late call-off
Lee Carter was hoping to see Telford stage their first game since Boxing Day
Telford United chairman Lee Carter has apologised to his club's fans for the late postponement of Saturday's home match with Eastwood Town.
The game was called off just before noon as an uncovered strip of the Bucks Head playing surface was frozen.
"There is no point in trying to make excuses. We got it wrong, end of story, and feel rotten for it," said Carter.
"We didn't envisage the weather being as severe as it was. We've fallen below the standards we've set ourselves."
Telford were desperate for the game to go ahead as it would have been their first at home since Boxing Day.
But, assuming the weather improves, they have the chance to host a game at the Bucks Head on Tuesday night when they are scheduled to face Vauxhall Motors (2 February, 1945 GMT).
Telford go into the game 10th in Blue Square North, eight points adrift of the play-off pack.
