Alfreton manager Nicky Law believes Reds can compete

Blue Square North

Alfreton manager Nicky Law believes his side can make the Blue Square North play-offs this season.

The Reds travel to Gloucester on Saturday in sixth place, two points off fifth-placed Droylsden, and on the back of a midweek draw with Eastwood.

Law said: "We have now got to take this level of performance on.

"If we play like we did against Eastwood on Tuesday, we will definitely win more than we lose this season that is for sure."

Alfreton are unbeaten in their last four games, but go in search of a first away win in eight games in all competitions.

We know what the end target is for us, and we have just got to keep going and going

"We have now got to go and win as many games as we can to get those points on the table as soon as possible," added Law.

"It was a very good, positive performance against Eastwood.

"The only thing that was missing was the win. They were a big, strong side, we ground them down and played some good football and mixed our game up well.

"All we were lacking was the extra goal to get us in front. I thought we were the better team, and certainly finished the strongest.

"We know what the end target is for us, and we have just got to keep going and going."

Meanwhile, Mattie Burke has had his loan spell with Hyde United extended for another month and goalkeeper Lawrence Matthewson has joined neighbours Belper Town on a dual registration.
