Paul Cook scored to ensure a Wroxham win in the Premier Division
Just five games survived the cold weather on Saturday in the whole of the Ridgeons League, only one involving a Norfolk side.
Wroxham's game at Debenham LC in the Premier Division went ahead and it proved to be a good start to the new year, with Paul Cook netting the only goal of the game to secure three points for the Yachtsmen.
His first-half effort pushed Wroxham up to eighth in the table.
Wroxham will hope the win gives their season fresh momentum, particularly with an important FA Vase tie coming up in a couple of weeks.
The number of games cancelled over the last few weeks presents a headache for league fixture secretaries, and of course clubs. The more weekend games lost to the weather - and there are sure to be more over the next few weeks - the more mid-week games will need to be squeezed in later in the year.
It could lead to some teams having to play three games a week in order to catch up.
Meanwhile, after a couple of Fridays off due to the festivities, Local Report is back this week and, among other things, we will be looking at the weekend's Norfolk Senior Cup quarter-finals - weather permitting!
