Boston offer King's Lynn fans free entry on Boxing Day
Boston United have offered King's Lynn season ticket holders free entry to their match against Stocksbridge Park Steels at York Street on Boxing Day.
The Pilgrims were originally to have played the Linnets, who were wound up in the High Court on 9 December.
Boston chairman David Newton said: "We really feel for their fans.
"I realise it will not replace watching the team that was in their hearts, but hopefully it will show that they are being thought of."
Boston came within days of going out of business in 2006, and were demoted from Blue Square North to the Unibond Premier Division as a result of their financial problems.
Newton added: "We stepped in to make sure that the club survived for the town and the fans, so we have a lot of empathy with King's Lynn's situation.
"Over the past few days we have been approached by a number of fans suggesting that we make this gesture and we thought it was a great idea.
"I know how important the Boxing Day game is to our fans and it must be the same for the King's Lynn followers."
Any King's Lynn fans presenting their season tickets at York Street on Boxing Day will be given a complimentary ticket to the match.
