Harrogate Town manager Simon Weaver says he is confident of lifting the club up the Blue Square North table.
Town are currently second-from-bottom after winning three and drawing two of their first 15 games.
"Knowledge is power as they say and I'm building up knowledge all the time. I'm ready for it," he told BBC Radio York.
"I've asked for character, responsibility and authority. I possess all those characteristics and I've a very positive mind set."
He added: "I can take criticism because you've got to as a 31-year-old manager. I'm ready to take that.
"I'll lick my wounds as I have done with injuries in my career but I always come back stronger."
