A controversial last-minute penalty from Ryan Beswick sent Harrogate Town to defeat at Solihull Moors and left them 21st in Blue Square North.
Goalkeeper Arron Jameson was judged to have brought down James McPike.
Town manager Simon Weaver told BBC Radio York: "I think he (McPike) was going nowhere, the keeper said he hasn't fouled him.
"These types of blows happen when you're down near the bottom, but there were a lot more positives this week."
Weaver also felt his side scored a good goal, although the effort was disallowed for a foul on the Solihull keeper.
By and large we've got the squad that we want, we're just waiting for it to click

"By and large, Michael Wood's had an outstanding game at centre-back alongside Matt Bloomer," Weaver added, having rested himself to obtain a better view of his new-look side.
"As a shape, I thought the team really battled and worked well within that shape. It's all about building blocks.
"There were a few 19-year-olds in, and you can see the potential they've got, but at times the naivety as well."
Weaver dropped captain Dave McTiernan and said: "Perhaps he needed a spell out of it today, let's see what he can do more in midfield for us, and his reaction was superb when he came off the bench."
On Jamie Harwood, Weaver said: "He has got to do more... I need more from a senior player.
"By and large we've got the squad that we want, we're just waiting for it to click. We don't look a badly-organised team at all."
