Southport manager Liam Watson says his team must beat Vauxhall Motors on Tuesday if they are to have any chance of winning the Blue Square North title.
Watson's side are fourth in the league, two points behind leaders Stalybridge.
"It becomes a huge game for us and we have to go there and get three points," Watson told BBC Radio Merseyside.
"I'm not saying that lightly or being disrespectful to Vauxhall but if we're going to win the league we have to go there and get three points."
"I think we played them about six times last season," he added. "I think one of the league games was 0-0.
"But every time they have always given us a really tough game and I don't expect any less on Tuesday."
Motors are in trouble as they sit third from bottom in the table and fell to a 1-0 defeat to Farsley Celtic on Saturday.
Vauxhall Motors v Southport is a 1945 GMT kick off at the Motassist Arena on Tuesday.
