Little unhappy at lack of caution

Gainsborough are yet to win at home in Blue Square North under Brian Little

Gainsborough Trinity manager Brian Little felt his players needed to exercise more caution after Saturday's 3-1 defeat by Stalybridge Celtic.

Trinity led at the Northolme but fell to a sixth home defeat of the season.

Little told BBC Radio Lincolnshire: "When they go behind the players try to get back into the game but they don't go about it in the right way.

"They throw caution to the wind and allow the opposition to counter-attack. We could have lost by three or four."

Gainsborough went ahead through Nathan Peat's penalty but Stalybridge levelled on the stroke of half-time before adding two more goals after the break, leaving Trinity in the bottom four in Blue Square North and still winless under Little at the Northolme.

He added: "In the first half we got among them and could have been three up at least, but what we got was a real sucker-punch, a goal 10 seconds before half time.

"You sensed that they got a massive boost from that but I felt we didn't quite have the same desire in the second half that we had in the first.

"It's a shame because that's definitely the best we've played since I've been here."
