Boston United climbed to the top of the Unibond Premier Division after a 4-0 win at Nantwich Town.
After defending against the wind in the first half the Pilgrims went ahead after 63 minutes through Marc Newsham.
Danny Davidson made it 2-0 in the 79th minute after Newsham's effort was parried and netted his second from close range five minutes later.
Dan Cotton rounded off the scoring with a long-range shot in added time to give Boston a fifth consecutive victory.
The win over Nantwich, who had started the day second in the table, along with a defeat for previous leaders Ashton United and draws for King's Lynn and Retford United, saw the Pilgrims leap four places from fifth to go top on goal difference.
Joint-manager Rob Scott told BBC Radio Lincolnshire: "The conditions played a part but I thought we played them perfectly.
"In the first half we defended magnificently and in the second half there was only one team which was going to win it.
"If the players keep performing, keep believing in the ability they've got then these results will be no fluke.
"They've found their feet a little bit, they're starting to know each other and what we have also got now is competition for places and good camaraderie."
In the Unibond First Division South Lee Potts struck a late winner as Grantham Town beat Willenhall Town 1-0.
Stamford lost 3-1 at Market Drayton Town with Paul Malone on target for the Daniels, while Ben Good was on target for Boston United as they went down 3-1 at home to Sheffield FC.
