Gainsborough swoop for defender

Gainsborough Trinity

Blue Square North side Gainsborough Trinity hope to confirm the signing of French defender Idrissa Alassane later this week.

Blues boss Brian Little has been impressed after watching the 33-year-old centre-back in training and a behind-closed-doors game.

Little told BBC Radio Lincolnshire: "He's tall, he's very strong, he's very quick and he's good on the ball.

"Adressi has something about him which ups the ante a little bit."

Alassane has previously played with French clubs Dieppe, Montivilliers and Normandie and in August 2009 had a trial with Aberdeen.
