Harrogate sign Wednesday keeper

Harrogate Town

Harrogate Town have signed Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Arron Jameson on a one-month loan deal.

The 19-year-old is the number three at Hillsborough, where he signed as a trainee in 2008.

Town manager Simon Weaver told BBC Radio York: "I played with him last year at Ilkeston Town and he had an excellent spell then.

"He came to training and he's ready to step up a league and I think he'll perform very well for us."

Weaver said Harrogate had also been looking at bringing some talented local players into the club.

"We've also registered a young lad from the Harrogate District league, Adam Nowakowski," he said.

"He's been performing up front. He's one of these I want to work with through the course of the season and feed him in at the right opportunity.

"We feel he's got assets we can really get the best out of and I'm sure he'll do really well for us in due course."

Meanwhile, defenders Leon Scott and Simon Sturdy have gone out on loan.

Scott has returned to Whitby, while Sturdy is at Matlock Town.
