Alfreton avenged last season's Blue Square North play-off defeat by Telford with a comprehensive victory.

Four second-half goals emphasised Town's superiority, Liam Hearn and Paul Clayton putting Alfreton in control before Andy Todd added two late on.

Telford's debutants, Stuart Nicholson, Gavin Hurren and Iyseden Christie, took time to gel with their new team-mates.

"We're having a really bad time at the moment," Telford boss Rob Smith told BBC Radio Shropshire.
