Carl Heggs is still looking for his first home win in the Unibond League
King's Lynn and Worksop Town played out a feisty 1-1 draw in the Unibond League Premier Division.
Twenty players were involved in a bad-tempered incident just before half-time which led to a member of each team being sent off.
Gareth Sheldon's free-kick secured a point for the Linnets after a Chris Adam shot had put Worksop ahead.
In the second half, Lynn manager Carl Heggs was sent to the stands after he had words with the referee's assistant.
The game will be remembered for the scenes at the end of the first half, where two players were sent off and a number of yellow cards were shown.
It all started after a challenge by King's Lynn striker Anthony Robinson on Worksop goalkeeper Jon Kennedy.
King's Lynn press officer, Mark Hearle, told BBC Radio Norfolk that the referee could have sent any one of a dozen players off.
"It was a challenge the Worksop players took exception to and after that it was a free-for-all for about a minute. Anthony Robinson was given a straight red for the challenge and a Worksop defender got a red for allegedly throwing a punch," he said.
Hearle added that it was a disappointing result for the Linnets.
"For the second consecutive home match, we found ourselves behind. Thankfully Gareth Sheldon pulled us back with a delightful free-kick," he said.
"After the sending off, both sides lost their rhythm. We possibly had the better second half but we were unable to find the final breakthrough."
King's Lynn's next match is against Whitby Town at the Walks on Saturday, 29 August.
