Parker rejoined Gainsborough from Boston United in the summer
Gainsborough Trinity manager Steve Charles says he was disappointed to see his side draw at Vauxhall Motors.
Trinity fought back from two goals down to draw 2-2 at Vauxhall Motors in their season-opener in Blue Square North.
Manager Steve Charles told BBC Radio Lincolnshire: "It was pleasing in terms of the football we played but we're disappointed to only get a point."
"We moved the ball about well but a couple of little mistakes cost us, along with a poor refereeing decision."
The Motormen led through two penalties from Alan Griffiths before Luke Beckett pulled a goal back in the 63rd minute.
Wes Parker, who conceded one of the spot-kicks, equalised in added time.
"They didn't really create anything apart from the two penalties. The first I think was fair but the second was a 50-50 ball, a bit of a shoulder charge from Wes.
"You never see those given but the referee said to me afterwards, 'You probably feel hard done by' and I told him I did, it was a shocking decision."
Parker said: "We'd have liked three points but coming back from two down shows we've got character."
