Lincoln City manager Peter Jackson has said he will not be making any more new signings before Saturday's League Two opener at home to Barnet.
The Imps have brought in eight players over the summer, the most recent being loan striker Rene Howe.
Jackson told BBC Radio Lincolnshire: "That's it, the budget has gone now.
"I've reduced the size of my squad as money's really tight. The board have backed me in everything I've wanted to do but the money's run out."
He added: "Hopefully we'll get a good start to the season and have a cup run and bring in more people and more money so I can strengthen again come January."
During the close season Lincoln have signed Howe, fellow strikers Chris Fagan and Paul Connor, winger Jamie Clarke, midfielders Richard Butcher and Sam Clucas and full-backs Joe Heath and Cian Hughton.
