AFC Telford have signed defender Gareth Jelleyman, who has praised the Blue Square North club's ambitious plans.
"They're clearly a go-ahead club, and I know what good players they have," the ex-Peterborough and Mansfield full-back told BBC Radio Shropshire.
At 28, Jelleyman has turned part-time to fit in training as an electrician, but insisted this was a step forward.
"I want to be playing at the best club that this level of football can offer - and that's Telford," he added.
Jelleyman, who enjoyed 10 years in the Football League first with Peterborough and then Mansfield, played twice for Telford before his signing was finalised - in the 1-1 friendly draw with Port Vale, and then in the penalty shoot-out victory over Shrewsbury in the Shropshire Senior Cup final.
"It took a while coming, but everyone can see in his two games so far that he's a great acquisition," said assistant boss Larry Chambers.
The left-back position was vacated by James Meredith, who joined York at the end of last season.
"Gareth's experienced and cool on the ball, and his arrival completes our squad," Chambers added.
